By Jack Hooper
Come to Texas, come and see Harvey,
Understand this wreckage? no not hardly.
Come stand in mud, it will break your heart,
Another great flood, but without the Ark.
People helping people, it’s natural we do,
A human chain to cars, save a driver or two.
8 lives in the water, reaching out to one,
Thinking race or politics? obviously none.
Red neck army, from out’a state,
People of color, come risk their fate.
It’s the American spirit, no splinter groups,
Fixing things, not jumping thru hoops,
Abandon their TV, with it’s ruthless debate.
It’s obvious to me, we must be taught to hate.
